2011 Minority Nurse Scholarship

Nursing Scholars, At Minority Nurse, we believe the baccalaureate is the degree that opens the most doors of opportunity for nurses of color. That’s why we offer an annual scholarship program to help outstanding students complete their studies leading to a BSN degree. To date, we have awarded nearly 40 scholarships, totaling $32,000, to nursing students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to academic excellence and community service.

Minority Nurse is now accepting applications for our 12th annual scholarships, which will be awarded in 2011.

Who Is Eligible?

The scholarships are open to racial and ethnic minority students who in September 2010 will be enrolled in either:

• The third or fourth year of an accredited BSN program in the United States
• An accelerated program leading to a BSN degree (such as RN-to-BSN or BA-to-BSN)
• An accelerated Master’s Entry nursing program for students with bachelor’s degrees in fields other than nursing (such as BA-to-MSN)

What Are the Scholarship Amounts?

Minority Nurse will award $5,000 in scholarships:

One $3,000 Scholarship
Two $1,000 Scholarships

When Are the Scholarships Paid?

Scholarships will be paid in summer 2011.

When Is the Deadline?

The application deadline for the 2011 Minority Nurse scholarships is February 1, 2011.
