Information provided on each scholarship is subject to change.
Punky and Mike Gaspar Pay it Forward Nursing Fund
The charitable purpose shall be a loan benefit to any admitted upper division graduate degree nursing student that has exhausted all means of financial aid at The University of Toledo. The student must be in good acadmic standing in their respective program(s). All students must be U.S. citizens. The student will sign a contract that they agree to pay back their 'loan' with no interest or fines when they are in a position to do so over the next five years.
Ruth Rowland Alteneder Scholarship |
Established in 2001 and endowed in 2006 by Ruth R. Alteneder (PhD '91), professor emerita and associate dean ofthe College of Nursing graduate program. Income from this fund supports scholarships for graduate nursing students, with first preference given to those interested in women's health.
Alumni College of Nursing Fund |
Established in 2007 by various donors. Income from this fund supports activities of the College of Nursing.
Alumni Graduate Nursing Scholarship Fund |
Established in 1999 by various donors. Income from this fund supports scholarships for graduate students in the College of Nursing, based on academic merit and community involvement.
Judith Anderson Scholarship |
Established in 2005 byDr. JudithA. Anderson (MSN '83), retired department chair and professor emerita, College ofNursing. Income from this fund supports scholarships for graduate nursing stndents, with priority given to psychiatric-mental health stndents. Award is based on communication skills, academic performance and interest in working with vulnerable populations.
holarship for junior honor students majoring in pre-med or taking the four-year nursing course at UT. The scholarship will be for two years and will alternate between the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Health Science and Human Service (i.e., a pre-med student will get it in year one, have it renewed for year two then, a nursing student will get it in year three and have it renewed for year four). The scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership and citizenship, career objectives, community activities, and financial need.
Dr. Alfred & Betty Foster Nursing Scholarship
Sophomore, junior or senior nursing students are eligible. Based on academic achievement and financial need.
Melissa Herstrum Scholarship
Award given to sophomore or junior level students currently accepted into The University of Toledo nursing program full time, male or female, with a preference given to those who are part of a national, Greek social organization. Dr. Ruth L. Kelly Baccalaureate Nursing Scholarship
For a junior or senior nursing student in the College of Health Science and Human Service with financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.8. Renewable upon academic achievement and committee recommendation.
Martin / Bissel / Neuman Nursing Scholarship
Scholarship for a full-time incoming nursing student. Scholarship is based on merit and need, and is not renewable.
William Neill Scholarship
For junior honor students taking pre-medical courses or junior honor students pursuing the four-year nursing course in the College of Health Science and Human Service. Based on academic achievement, leadership, citizenship, career objectives and community activities.
Lisa L. Neiswander Memorial Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for part-time or full-time students enrolled in a nursing program within the College of Health Science and Human Service at The University of Toledo. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. First preference will be given to a student who is a licensed practical nurse and who is completing requirements to become a registered nurse. If none apply or are eligible, second preference will go to a registered nurse of other licensed allied health professional holding an associate degree, who is completing a baccalaureate degree in any allied health profession. If none apply or are eligible, scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the general scholarship requirements who is most deserving or in need of scholarship assistance. Current recipients may reapply each year.
Riverside Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Scholarship for University of Toledo nursing students entering their final two years of the nursing program. This scholarship is based primarily on financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid, but a minimum GPA of 3.0 is also required. Preference will be given to non-traditional students. The recipient will receive the scholarship for the final two years of his/her nursing program.
St. Vincent School of Nursing Scholarship
For nursing students who carry the highest GPA. Two $1000 awards will be made each semester.
Robert S. and Elsie Thompson Memorial
This scholarship is for full-time UT nursing students in their final two years of their program. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher. Award is based on financial need.
