Queensland Health, Nurse Practitioner Scholarships

Queensland Health, Office of the Chief Nursing Officer offers a number of scholarships each year for experienced registered nurses to undertake a nurse practitioner Master’s degree leading to authorisation as a nurse practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Scholarships are open to registered nurses employed by Queensland Health, Queensland Non Government Organisations and the Queensland Indigenous Community Control Sector.

Applicants must be eligible to enrol in a Nurse Practitioner Master’s program at an approved University and be prepared to commence study in 2011.

Applicants must obtain the support of their employer, which includes a commitment to work in an advance parctice role while undertaking the internship component of the Master’s program, and to the establishment of a nurse practitioner role in the scholarship applicant’s area of practice.
